[HIA 320] Books you’ll need

HIA 320 - Fall 2010 / No Comments

Hi folks. Here are the books you’ll need for History of Ancient Greece (HIA 320).

These have been ordered from the Lehman College Bookstore, but their supply (especially of new copies) may be limited. As an alternative, you can order these books easily online, both used and new. Just make sure (a) you get the right version, and (b) that you leave enough time for shipping so that you have your books in hand by the time the course starts on August 30. Convenient Amazon links are at the bottom of this post.

Two books are required for this course.

Textbook (Pomeroy) (1) Pomeroy, Sarah B., et al.
Ancient Greece: A Political, Social, and Cultural History.
2nd edition.
New York: Oxford University Press, 2008.
ISBN: 978-0-195-30800-6.

Version note: Please make sure you get the second edition.

Aristophanes (2) Aristophanes, and Marie C. Marianetti.
The Clouds: An Annotated Translation
.
Lanham, Md: University Press of America, 1997.
ISBN: 978-0-761-80588-5.

Version note: The play itself is widely available, but we’ll also be working with Prof. Marianetti’s annotations and interpretations, so you’ll need to get this version. It’s regularly assigned in her classes, so it should be readily available used.

Both books are available from Lehman College Bookstore, either on person or via their website, as well as through online retailers.
