			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As promised, I&#8217;ve put together a Sample Proposal for your research project. Hopefully this will give you a clearer idea of what I&#8217;m looking for.</p>
<p>As you can see, it&#8217;s quite possible to do this on one page. The main elements are the Statement of the Problem (what questions are being debated?), the Thesis Statement (what is <em>your position</em> on the problem?), and a Preliminary Outline (what areas will you need to cover to support your argument?).</p>

<ul>
<li>To do this you need a Student Access Code.
<ul>
<li>If you purchased the book new, it should have come packaged with one.</li>
<li>Otherwise, you can buy a Student Access Code standalone for $21.90. These are supposed to be available either at the bookstore or from the website below.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>You will also need the school ZIP code (11210) and a valid email address.</li>
</ul>
<p>To register, go to <a href="http://www.pearsoncustom.com/ny/bc_history_smw/" target="_blank">http://www.pearsoncustom.com/ny/bc_history_smw/</a> and click on <strong>Register</strong>. Create a new Pearson Education account and enter the Student Access Code when it asks you.</p>
<p>Once you&#8217;ve jumped through hoops of the registration process, you should be able to go back to the same URL and log in using the account you just created.</p>
<p>If anyone tries this and it works, please let me know! I&#8217;m curious to see if this is a useful alternate means of accessing the book.</p>
